When I arrived at the Sturdivant home, Masada reminded me that we were taking sunset family photos during the same week last year! We reminisced about little Noah’s adorable smile (and his ability to sit in one place, ha!).

Noah was 18 months old at the time we photographed. He’s a man on the move! Instead of fighting it, we decided to document Noah as the toddler he is. While I managed to snag a few lovely smiles with Mom and Dad, Masada & Mike embraced the season Noah was in and relished the action photographs.

That’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? Why stress about a toddler sitting still when the reality and what you’ll remember is his energetic playful spirit?  My goal with photographs is to portray the raw reality of the family at that stage.
