A family film tells a story. It showcases voices, laughter, smiles, gestures, and looks…all while your beautiful every day unfolds.
The purpose is to capture what you’ll soon forget, so 5 years or even 5 months from now, you own the legacy.
THE VOSSEN FAMILY
Elizabeth, when asked about her favorite moments from life during this season said,
"On the weekends we try and do one work project together like weed the garden, clean the garage, etc. Then we do something fun as a family together, like make a special meal, do a bonfire, play kickball or baseball."
She described their life as 'beautiful chaos' and that she loved the ages of her kids at the time. Elizabeth wanted a heartfelt video to capture the feeling of this particular summer before the kids grow and inevitably spend less time at home.
THE RITCHIE FAMILY
For Chelsea & Josh, it’s the sound of their children running down the hallway.
Chelsea said, "We savor the little things. Perhaps it’s a direct result of infertility, of waiting so long for these two. Or perhaps it’s just parenthood, realizing how fast time goes and how quickly times change. But the little things, we cling to them. The everyday moments. These are so precious to us."
She went on to say, "When Josh and I first watched it, we sat in stunned silence (and tears!) at how many little things she caught that are so perfectly them. Jen gave us the most special gift in sharing her talent with us to make this.
We are so blessed.”
THE KRAMPF FAMILY
The Krampf Family made family films a yearly tradition to document the sights and sounds of their two girls as they grow.
In 2023, Maya put in her session questionnaire that every couple of weeks during the summer, she took the day off to spend with her girls. They spend the day doing art projects, going to a waterpark or stopping at Starbucks for a special treat.
Maya knew these days were fleeting and wanted to showcase the feel of these carefree summer days.
In 2022, the family had just returned from a vacation in Portland and wanted to remember being in the woods and gathering nature's treasures.
Most moms end up being the one who prepares the entire family for a photo session, including herself/themselves!
It’s a stressful experience instead of an enjoyable one.
With lifestyle portraits, the stress and expectation of perfection is lifted.
The approach is less pose-an-smile and more documentary.
Moving Portraits are one-minute videos, filmed during a traditional portrait session, aka the Emerald Sunset Session.
Moving Portraits are a beautiful way to get just a glimpse into your world now, as tomorrow will inevitably change.
