One of the core memories the Vossen kids will leave home with is cooking together as a family. Mother, Elizabeth, even runs a business focused on providing delicious meals for other families.
I especially love this because not only are they able to bond over food and the conversation that naturally occurs, the kids are learning lifelong skills they can then pass on to the next generation.
Just like the film and photos I was happy to deliver to them. The family has a visual legacy of life during this season to pass on as well, and that’s what it’s all about.
Being a witness to the sights, sounds and smells of the Vossen kitchen as the family cooked dinner was a treat! (Literally, because they fed me!).
When Elizabeth filled out the session questionnaire before her family film session, she stated that she was certain she’d feel emotional when she viewed the final film.
She went on to say, “But I wish to feel happy and overwhelmed with the chaotic/beautiful season of life we are in.”
I couldn’t have said it better. Life is not black and white, one way or the other, uncompromising. She described this season as beautiful and chaotic. Her feelings as happy and overwhelmed. Both can exist simultaneously.
There’s never a perfect time for a film and Elizabeth knew that when booking.
No matter what busyness was upon the family, they’d make the time and make the memories. That sounds so corny, but it’s really that simple.
Show up. Make the memories. I’ll let the film tell you the rest.
